Strategic Thinker – Collaborator – Authenticity Seeker – Life-Long Learner – Leader

I have been fortunate. There is no doubt. I have my health, I am happy most of the time, and I have been afforded the opportunity to discover “what I want to be when I grow up” for several decades now. I am not one of those people who knew instantly that I wanted to be a doctor or lawyer or construction worker. I often thought those people had it much better than me – I was a wandering soul when it came to my career. What I did not realize until now, is that all of my wanderings were simply preparing me to be an effective, empathetic, and collaborative change-maker in the workplace.
At the moment, I live in Bloomington, Indiana with my husband and two awesome kids who are finding their way in the world. They are in elementary school and middle school – ugh…such formative years! It is amazing to see them mold into self-sufficient humans. In addition, I have two grown step-daughters who are out doing their thing which makes me really proud! One of them took a conventional path through college into a job, the other took a winding path, like mine. There is no perfect route to being a grown-up. We grown-ups need to remember that!
I grew up in the great state of Minnesota and have lived in several other states since. I left a big piece of my heart in Falls Church, VA after being there for 11 years while raising my kids. I enjoy being able to travel to see friends, family, and interesting places. Is there anything better than that?!
